KP Youth Employment Program
A delegation from the KPITB and the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa present a strategy for addressing youth employment through the digital economy and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as an outsourcing destination.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has competitive costs, abundant talent pool and strong government support and incentives to promote offshoring and outsourcing. Digital jobs are a cornerstone to promote youth unemployment in the province
Early Age Programming
Using the imagination and the programming skills taught in Early Age Programming, the students have managed to create hundreds of games, applications, and animations. From converting the computer keyboard into a piano to a visual animated application of their favorite book, these kids are not only learning core analytical thinking skills but also having fun at the same time. The project was nominated as one of the most innovative initiatives in the education category by the Pakistan Innovation Forum.
In order to showcase the projects created by the students of the first batch of Early Age Programming, an Hour of Code was organized by KPITB, where 30+ students from selected government schools got a chance to showcase their applications to the public and the media. The trainers were also awarded certificates at this event as a token of appreciation for the commendable services rendered in imparting these critical programming skills to school children.
The event took place on Tuesday 26th December from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, at KPITB office, 134, Industrial Estate, Hayatabad, Peshawar. Senior Minister Health and IT, Mr. Shahram Khan Tarakai along with the Secretary STIT were present at the event.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board - KPITB in collaboration with the KP Elementary Secondary Education Department has launched first of its kind project in Pakistan- The Early Age Programming in the public sector schools of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The curriculum of this programme is designed by
"Code.org" and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Scratch. The first phase of the programme is running successfully in 60 schools across different districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the vision to equip the young generation with the tools of tomorrow. Our programme strives to introduce a skilled generation of programmers and coders to the world.

KPITB's Civic Fellowship Program
The final demo day of KPITB's Civic Fellowship Program in collaboration with Code for Pakistaand has been hosted at KPITB. The successful fellows presented their solutions for different public sector departments and received certificate of completion. The Senior Minister for Health and IT Shahram Khan Tarakai Official was the chief guest of the event. The solutions made for different departments by the fellows through technology were highly applauded.

KP Health Portal
Amidst growing concern over the spread of the Dengue virus in Peshawar, we got to work....and built the KP Health Portal app in under 24 hours!
Citizens can now call 1700 and access the Dengue Health Helpline 24 hours a day. The Health Portal App is being used by Health department
and will be available to download on Google Play Store in the coming days.
Health workers can also login to the app to report updates on treatment activities, and when they recognize symptoms of infectious diseases in communities across the province.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department will mobilize staff and resources in response to citizen concerns and use the data collected to identify public health trends and monitor health worker performance.
The quick development of the application is also a testament to how technology can be used to improve all types of government service delivery and how government departments can collaborate.

The facility will be extended across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The ceremony was chaired by the Senior Minister for Health and Information Technology, Mr. Shahram Khan

Digital Youth Summit 2017
The Digital Youth Summit (DYS) is a tech conference and start-up expo that takes place annually in Peshawar, Pakistan. Since its inception in 2014, DYS has quickly become one of the premier tech conferences in Pakistan. The summit aims to bring together “the next generation of digital innovators in Pakistan” and typically attracts three key audiences: tech industry leaders from Pakistan and abroad, the nascent start-up community; and young people looking to network, learn, and be inspired. The summit, therefore, draws participants from the private sector, investors, government, civil society, youth groups, and academia. DYS is a joint initiative of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the World Bank along with key local community and academic partners.
Art Tech Festival
The ArtTech Festival is a two-day festival in Peshawar, Pakistan exploring the intersection between art, culture, and technology. Its vision is to encourage cross-disciplinary creativity and nurture entrepreneurship. The ArtTech Summit is a ‘sister’ festival to the Digital Youth Summit-Pakistan’s largest tech conference and is organized by the World Bank, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board, and Peshawar 2.0. The festivities weave together three complementary themes: Innovation, Storytelling, and Design For Good. The festival aims to bring together the innovative potential of creativity and digital technology through interactive exhibitions, workshops and networking activities.

Public Demo Day of 3rd batch of KP Civic Innovation Fellowship Program 2017 was held today at KPITBs Government Innovation Lab in Peshawar:Durshal.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board - KPITB, Code for Pakistan and the World Bank Groups collaborative initiative the KP Civic Innovation Fellowship Program helps the Government to bridge the gap between themselves and the public
The 6 months long Fellowship program (launched on 7th March, 2017) aims to bring together talented researchers, designers and developers to build apps, increase citizen engagement, improve government service delivery and show the government how to innovate in public services.
The teams showcased their products in front of Secretary ST IT and Transport and SSP Traffic. Shahbaz Khan , MD of KPITB also gave a speech at the event, encouraging the youth to take an active part in the digital transformation of KP.
Digital Employment in the province
In order to promote Digital Employment in the province, which is part of KPITB’s “Digital KP” initiative, KPITB arranged an event with the inspirational and iconic Fiverr’s Top Rated and Super Seller Aaliyaan Chaudhary on 15th July,2017 in Peshawar at Nishtar Hall.
It was a 6 hours workshop about “Freelancing on Fiverr” and was a huge success. The event attraccted over 150 aspiring digital entrepreneurs from all across Pakistan.
The proceeds from the event were donated to “The Logical Pakistan”, a charity organisation which helps in providing food to the needy people across Pakistan.
